Meiosis Stages

The stages of meiosis are classified based on structural characteristics of the cell and activities taking place within the cell. This double division process is continuous, but organizing the division into named stages helps us understand the process. The models illustrated here are the ones you observed during your lab. Remember however, that not every stage of meiosis is represented by a model.
